Coming back from injury or brand new to exercise?

Want to reduce aches & pains (especially back pain) and improve mobility?

Hi. My name is Sarah. Founder of sewalk8 Yoga.

In 2004 I was in an accident which broke both of my legs.

Not only did I have to learn how to walk again, but also how to workout.

I learned very quickly how impact sports and injuries don’t do well together.

I learned how correct form and posture greatly reduce or eliminate post workout injury pains.

I learned how important it is to take baby steps and be patient and kind to yourself.

Looking to come back from injury or after being sedentary?

Want to build strength, mobility & agility safely and efficiently?

From my first dance class at age 3 to defying gravity at age 43, movement has been my lifelong passion.

For four decades I’ve immersed myself in a world of motion, pushing boundaries and discovering the incredible potential of the human body.

The Trapeze

Available Online or In-Studio

The trapeze is a suspension system great for back pain, core strength, functional upper body strength, flexibility and balance.

Inversion therapy with the trapeze creates extra space between the vertebrae and joints while activating the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest mode of the body).

The trapeze also allows one to work toward achieving and perfecting those difficult yoga poses.

The trapeze provides a comprehensive fitness routine.

A comprehensive fitness program must include pushing, holding, and pulling, something traditional mat work does not include. This often leads to poor grip strength, weak wrists and shoulders.

The trapeze will build grip, upper body & core strength as well as improve flexibility.

You may reduce or eliminate back pain all while standing taller with an improved posture.

By using the trapeze your body must work harder to stabilize and find your center of gravity.

This helps build core strength and creates new pathways in the brain if one has never done a practice as this.

This is a low impact class suitable for all levels including beginners.

No previous experience required.

This one-hour course offers a full-body workout suitable for all fitness levels. Rather than focusing on the speed and quantity of repetitions, Pilates emphasizes using the breath to transition with control between poses all while focusing on the quality of the poses. Benefits include enhanced flexibility, strength, endurance, and inner awareness. Each session targets the entire body.

Meridian Yoga Therapy is a powerful & therapeutic 60 minute, mat-based yoga session accessible to all levels. MYT utlizes acupressure, healing and the 12 meridians. We examine not just the physical body but the whole Self, including energies, emotions & more.

What are Meridians?

Meridians are energetic pathways in the body in which Qi, or life energy flows and cycles every 24 hours. Meridians do not have visible structures themselves but they do travel along physical pathways of the fascia or connective tissues.

No one knows precisely how the meridian system originated. Perhaps it came from monks practicing meditation, identifying points and movements within the body. Chinese medicine (origin also unknown most likely due to beginning prior to written record) uses acupuncture and acupressure on points along the meridians.

"The ancient Chinese adepts, like the Yogis, wanted to understandthe dynamic living body-mind, rather than the simple gross physical structures that remain afer death."

This gentle flow can build strength, increase flexibility & balance, and improve stress management. This mindful practice is great for those who want to add some simple movement into thier everyday life.

In addition to traditional chair exercises, we utilize the trapeze (this is optional). This assists greatly in opening the chest & shoulders which helps to reverse kyphosis. This can also assist in reducing neck, shoulder & upper back pain.
